Code of Conduct

Our Values

At Start2Study, we believe that every student deserves respectful, transparent, and high-quality support when planning their educational future. This Code of Conduct outlines the standards expected of all Start2Study team members, partners, and representatives.

We are committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, inclusion, and student welfare in every aspect of our work.


Who This Applies To

This Code applies to:

  • Start2Study staff, consultants, and volunteers

  • Partners or affiliates representing Start2Study

  • Anyone acting on behalf of Start2Study in a professional capacity

  • Our interactions with students, parents, carers, and referral partners


Our Principles

We expect all representatives of Start2Study to uphold the following core principles:

1. Respect and Dignity

Treat all individuals with respect, patience, and cultural sensitivity.
➡ No discrimination, harassment, or abusive behaviour will be tolerated.

2. Professionalism

Maintain clear boundaries and behave with honesty, integrity, and care in all communications—whether written, spoken, or digital.

3. Confidentiality

Respect the privacy of students and partners. Never share personal or sensitive information without clear consent or legal obligation.

4. Transparency and Honesty

Provide accurate, unbiased information at all times. Do not make false promises or mislead students about university placements, fees, or outcomes.

5. Student-Centred Service

Put the student’s interests first. Tailor advice to their goals, background, and needs. Do not pressure or upsell services that are not appropriate or beneficial.

6. Safeguarding Awareness

Remain alert to any signs of distress or vulnerability. Raise safeguarding concerns promptly through the appropriate channels (see Safeguarding Policy).

7. Accountability

Own your responsibilities. Admit mistakes, seek guidance when unsure, and be open to feedback from colleagues, students, or partner organisations.

8. No Conflicts of Interest

Avoid situations where personal interest could interfere with the best interest of the student or your professional duties.


Unacceptable Conduct

The following behaviours are strictly prohibited under this Code:

  • Discriminatory language or behaviour

  • Dishonest practices or misinformation

  • Exploiting student vulnerability for financial or personal gain

  • Breaching confidentiality

  • Aggressive or coercive communication

  • Offering or accepting bribes or unethical incentives


Reporting Concerns

Anyone who witnesses or experiences a breach of this Code may report it to:

All concerns will be treated seriously and confidentially. Disciplinary action may be taken for serious or repeated breaches.

This Code is reviewed annually or in response to relevant legislation or incidents.
